Case Study – Otterbein College Schear Hall Renovation

Before construction began, Messer’s team met with Otterbein College to establish the goals by which our performance would be evaluated each quarter. Messer risked $100,000 to give Otterbein the opportunity to measure us against goals based on key concerns Otterbein identified. Messer would receive the fee only if Otterbein felt their needs were 100% fulfilled.

Regularly-scheduled ValuePath discussions provided Otterbein with opportunities to discuss issues as they arose. Messer’s team worked to address Otterbein’s safety, communication, site sensitivity, noise reduction, and quality objectives, earning praise from school officials for our efforts.

Messer’s performance earned us 96% of the $100,000 base fee put at risk.
