Messer’s in-house department of twenty committed, caring professionals is dedicated to providing cost planning and estimating expertise to our clients. The group is led by Greg Herrin, a twenty-year construction industry veteran who is a nationally-sought media contact for construction pricing.

Because Messer serves its clients as a general contractor and trade contractor and is not solely a construction manager, we regularly bid competitively for work. This keeps our cost experts in tune with up-to-the-minute marketplace pricing, which means our clients benefit with real, true, current cost information.

Another part of this group’s success is its ability to develop meaningful, trusting relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Our cost planners and estimators go to great lengths to help subcontractors and suppliers understand a particular portion of a project. Helping our building associates understand a scope of work leads to better pricing because there are fewer unknowns.

While our cost planners and estimators have company-wide cost knowledge, the department is structured to ensure individual estimators develop expertise in each of our regions. This regional focus yields deeper connections and higher levels of trust among subcontractors and Messer’s estimators, which leads to better pricing for our clients. Each regional estimator is part of a centrally located department where cross-regional data, pricing and trends are shared. This information-sharing helps us guide our clients with reliable current cost information and informed cost forecasts.
