2020 AGC Build America Award: UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute
Cincinnati, OH
We Are Building
The UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute is the first of its kind to blend architecture and neurologic patient care. The facility emphasizes light, comfort, flexibility, and stress-reduction with a focus on neurological patient experience. A variety of activities occur at the institute bringing innovation in neurological medicine to the next level. It is four-stories, 110,611 sf steel frame outpatient research facility consolidating 15 head/brain specialties to one central location.
The project site was located on an urban campus with virtually no laydown space and high-priority traffic from ambulances traveling to the emergency department. To overcome these challenges, Messer implemented solutions including Single Piece Flow construction and prefabrication.
