Description

This new medical school for IU School of Medicine features a 3-story, 58,000 sq. ft. podium and an 8-story, 112,000 sq. ft. tower. The podium includes large lecture halls, various classrooms, a surgical skills suite, exam rooms, and simulation rooms. The tower provides office space, future research laboratories, and mechanical areas.

Features

  • The podium stories faced the logistical challenges of staying dry in rainy months for finishes installation while the tower stories were still being erected and closed in. We created water barriers in various tower levels and had substantial water cleanup plans for after every heavy rain to remove the risk of water damage.
  • The tower section of this building is made of prefabricated unitized curtail wall. The speed of installation exceeded all expectations and cost substantially less, saving the owner on their schedule and their budget.
  • This project is planning to be LEED Gold Certified.
